Q: Is this Garbaruk derailleur cage compatible with mechanical Shimano 12-speed derailleurs?
A: No. It's only compatible with electronic (Di2) Shimano 12-speed rear derailleurs, listed in the specifications below. If you're running a mechanical Shimano 12-speed setup, check out our cage for mechanical Shimano 12-speed derailleurs instead.
Q: Can I use this cage with a 1x or 2x drivetrain?
A: This cage is designed for 1x setups only.
Q: What's the difference between this and a roadlink-style adapter?
A: Unlike roadlinks, which simply drop the derailleur lower (often with mixed results), the Garbaruk cage actually changes the pulley path for improved shifting and reliable performance across a wider gear range. It's a game-changer.
Q: Do I need new jockey wheels for my Garbaruk rear derailleur cage?
A: You can run a Garbaruk derailleur cage with your old, boring jockey wheels, but we recommend pairing them with Garbaruk's oversized pulley wheels for three reasons: 1) it will give you the smoothest and most efficient shifting; 2) it will eliminate the gap between the regular jockey wheel and a Garbaruk cage, to reduce the risk of debris (e.g. a stick) getting caught in between; and 3) they just look awesome.
