SQLab 60X Ergowave Active 2.1 Saddle - Performance Support for Technical Trails and Enduro Riding

The SQLab 60X Ergowave Active 2.1 saddle is a purpose-built solution for riders tackling steep climbs, rough terrain and long-distance efforts. Designed specifically for all-mountain and enduro use (including e-MTBs), it delivers exceptional support, pressure relief and comfort thanks to its ergonomic shape and adaptive movement system.

🚴 Why Choose the SQLab 60X Ergowave Active 2.1 Saddle?

If you’re an off-road rider who’s tired of saddles that promise performance but fall short on comfort, the SQLab 60X Ergowave Active 2.1 saddle changes the game. This is SQLab’s best-selling saddle in Germany for a reason—it combines the brand’s signature ergonomic design with rugged durability and ride-enhancing tech.

Whether you’re riding an e-MTB, all-mountain rig or enduro setup, the SQLab 60X offers proper support where you need it most. The standout Ergowave profile contours naturally to your sit bones for maximum pressure distribution and control. The raised rear section gives extra support and keeps you planted on steep ascents, while the lowered, wider nose reduces pressure on sensitive areas for both men and women.

Light, smooth and adjustable, the 60X’s revolutionary Active 2.1 system provides controlled lateral movement (i.e. flex) that mimics the motion of your pelvis for better pedalling efficiency and back support.

On the durability front, enhanced grip material prevents unwanted slipping, and the padding is tuned for off-road damping without compromising responsiveness. Reinforced edges and an impact-resistant cover mean this saddle can handle everything from rock gardens to extended singletrack sessions.

Available in multiple widths for a precise fit, the SQLab 60X Ergowave Active 2.1 is a comfort-first saddle that won’t hold you back when the trail turns technical.

Features

  • Optimised For Off-Road Power Transfer: The raised back and waved shape ensure a locked-in feel for maximum power, especially when you’re seated and pushing hard
  • Pressure Relief Where It Counts: A flattened, widened nose and carefully contoured dip reduce pressure on the perineum and pubic bone, improving long-ride comfort
  • Adjustable Active Comfort System: SQLab’s Active 2.1 technology uses lightweight elastomers to allow controlled saddle movement that mirrors your pelvis motion, reducing strain on spinal discs
  • Durable & Trail-Ready: Reinforced edges and a hard-wearing cover resist wear, while the lightweight S-Tube rails keep the weight low without sacrificing strength
  • Tailored Fit Options: Available in multiple widths to match your sit bone measurements and ensure proper pressure distribution

Pro Bike Mechanic’s Tip

Pair the 60X Ergowave Active 2.1 saddle with a high-quality dropper post for even more control on technical descents. Already running a dropper? This saddle’s reinforced edges will help it withstand years of aggressive up-and-down action without fraying or tearing.

FAQs

Q: Can I use the SQLab 60X saddle on my e-bike?
A: Absolutely! The 60X Ergowave Active 2.1 is equally at home on electric and regular all-mountain and enduro bikes. It’s built to withstand demanding terrain, regardless of your drivetrain.

Q: Is the Active system noticeable while riding?
A: Yes—but in a good way. It moves subtly with your pelvis to reduce pressure on your spine and improve comfort over rough ground. (We say it feels a little like a walking motion, but you tend to forget the saddle’s there after a short time.) You can even adjust the stiffness using the included elastomers.

Q: Can this saddle help reduce numbness or discomfort?
A: That’s what SQLab saddles are designed to do! The wave shape, wider nose and pressure-relieving design significantly reduce numbness and discomfort on long or technical rides.

Q: How do I know what size of SQLab saddle I need?
A: SQLab bases saddle sizing on two factors: 1) your sit bone width and 2) your riding position.

First, measure your sit bones using a simple at-home method—just a piece of corrugated cardboard and a hard surface. This quick video shows you how: Watch here .

Once you have your sit bone measurement, add the correct margin based on how upright your riding position is:

    Riding Position Description Adjustment
Aggressive Very low, stretched-out road position Sit bone width = saddle size
Moderate Slightly upright, endurance/all-road position Sit bone width + 1 cm
Upright Relaxed, trekking or city-style riding position Sit bone width + 2–3 cm

The more upright you ride, the wider your saddle needs to be, because your sit bones rotate outward as your upper body becomes more vertical. Choosing the correct width ensures your weight is properly supported and helps avoid numbness and pressure issues.
