SQLab 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 Saddle - Comfort & Support for Sporty Trekking and MTB Rides

The SQLab 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 saddle is purpose-built for comfort-focused mountain bikers and sporty trekking riders. Featuring a wave-shaped design, advanced pressure relief and SQLab’s adaptive Active technology, this saddle delivers increased efficiency, reduced discomfort and long-ride support for those who want more than just padding.

🚴 Why Choose the SQLab 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 Saddle?

For riders who love big days on the bike but could do without the back pain and pressure point problems, the SQLab 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 saddle is designed with your comfort in mind. Whether you’re grinding up long climbs or cruising scenic gravel paths, this saddle blends ergonomic innovation with real-world relief, making it one of SQLab’s best options for riders who veer to the sporty side but want more support than a typical racing perch can offer.

The Ergolux wave shape sets this model apart. Developed specifically for comfort-oriented mountain bikers and trekking cyclists, the stepped profile improves power transfer while relieving pressure across your sit bones and perineal area. The rear section offers strong support in a moderately aggressive position, while the stepped section cushions the ischial branches during more upright riding.

The 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 incorporates SQLab’s world-renowned lateral movement system, designed to move with your pelvis as you pedal. The result? Better efficiency, improved spinal alignment and relief from lower back strain, particularly on long-distance adventures.

Perfect for comfort-conscious riders who don’t want to sacrifice performance, this saddle is available in four widths to ensure a custom fit based on your sit bone distance. Whether you’re on a trekking bike, hardtail or e-MTB, the 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 is a problem-solver that’ll have you riding longer, further, and happier.

Features

  • Optimised Wave Design = Sit Bone Support: The Ergolux shape redistributes pressure to the sit bones and ischial branches, offering proper support
  • Reduced Perineal Pressure: A lower nose, central dip and wave profile work together to reduce pressure on soft tissue and support healthy blood flow
  • Active Comfort Movement: The Active 2.1 system lets the saddle move gently side to side with your pedal stroke, supporting your spine and reducing lumbar fatigue, especially over longer rides
  • Light & Durable Construction: An updated shell and weight-optimised design make the 2.1 model lighter, with impact-resistant microfibre and CrMo rails offering lasting durability
  • Tailored Fit For Total Relief: Available in four widths, the 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 ensures pressure is spread across the right contact points, minimising numbness, coccyx pain and pubic bone pressure issues

Pro Bike Mechanic’s Tip

For ultimate comfort on longer rides, pair the SQLab 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 with a quality suspension seatpost or vibration-dampening tyres. You’ll feel the difference, especially on rough roads or gravel.

FAQs

Q: Is the SQLab 610 Ergolux Active 2.1 saddle good for touring?
A: Yes. It’s designed for comfort over long distances, making it a great choice for touring, trekking, and extended MTB rides.

Q: How does the 610 Ergolux differ from other SQLab saddles?
A: The 610 Ergolux offers more comfort than SQLab’s racier models, with a wave shape and medium-level relief designed for moderately sporty to upright riding positions.

Q: Can this saddle help with lower back pain?
A: Definitely. The Active 2.1 system reduces strain on your spine by letting the saddle move with your pelvis, which supports natural motion and reduces lumbar discomfort.

Q: Is it suitable for e-bike use?
A: Yes. It’s fully e-bike compatible and ideal for riders who want enhanced support and pressure relief while seated for longer periods.

Q: How do I know what size of SQLab saddle I need?
A: SQLab bases saddle sizing on two factors: 1) your sit bone width and 2) your riding position.

First, measure your sit bones using a simple at-home method—just a piece of corrugated cardboard and a hard surface. This quick video shows you how: Watch here .

Once you have your sit bone measurement, add the correct margin based on how upright your riding position is:

    Riding Position Description Adjustment
Aggressive Very low, stretched-out road position Sit bone width = saddle size
Moderate Slightly upright, endurance/all-road position Sit bone width + 1 cm
Upright Relaxed, trekking or city-style riding position Sit bone width + 2–3 cm

The more upright you ride, the wider your saddle needs to be, because your sit bones rotate outward as your upper body becomes more vertical. Choosing the correct width ensures your weight is properly supported and helps avoid numbness and pressure issues.
