White Industries External BSA Bottom Bracket 30mm Stainless Steel Bearings Black
A smooth, serviceable, American-made bottom bracket for your 30mm spindle cranks. The bottom bracket is where every pedal stroke ends up, so it deserves better than a throwaway bearing set. Machined in California with stainless steel angular contact bearings, the White Industries External BSA Bottom Bracket is built to spin smoothly, stay quiet and be reliable for years.
Why Choose a White Industries BSA Bottom Bracket?
The White Industries External BSA Bottom Bracket is a threaded bottom bracket for standard BSA (British, 68mm or 73mm) shells, with bearings that sit outboard of the frame. This version is sized for 30mm spindle cranks, has stainless steel angular contact bearings, and is finished in black.

🚴 Why Choose White Industries?
Every White Industries bottom bracket is made in their Petaluma, California workshop. The cups are machined, anodised and engraved in-house, and then fitted with Enduro bearings. This is the kind of precision — start to finish — that White Industries is known for.
The stainless steel angular contact bearings are fully serviceable, resist corrosion, and are made for the loads of pedalling. When they eventually wear out, you can replace the bearings and keep the cups, rather than having to buy a whole new bottom bracket.
This BB is also a practical fit. BSA is the most common threaded bottom bracket standard, so if your frame has a 68mm or 73mm threaded shell, it'll go straight in. The 30mm size matches White Industries MR30 series cranks, as well as other brands of 30mm spindle crank.
With anodised cups and machine-engraved logos, this is a bottom bracket which looks as good as it works. Pair it with your White Industries hubs, headset or seat collar for a matching finish.

Pro Bike Mechanic's Tip
Fit the seals so the part numbers moulded into them face outward, sitting directly against the bearings. Grease the threads, and tighten the cups to 35-50Nm with a 12-notch/46mm tool such as the Park Tool BBT-79. Spindle spacers aren't included, so check your crank's requirements before you start.

FAQs
Will it fit my frame?
This bottom bracket suits threaded BSA shells, 68mm or 73mm wide. If your frame has a press-fit shell, it won't work. We also stock a T47 internal version for T47 frames.
Will it fit my cranks?
This version is for cranks with a 30mm spindle, such as White Industries MR30 series cranks. If your cranks have a 29mm (SRAM DUB) or 24mm (Shimano HollowTech II) spindle, you'll need a different size. Email us and we'll sort it.
What does "external" mean?
The bearings sit outside the frame's bottom bracket shell, rather than inside it. External bearings can be larger, which tends to mean better support and longer life.
What tools do I need?
A 12-notch/46mm bottom bracket tool, such as the Park Tool BBT-79 series, plus a torque wrench. Tighten to 35-50Nm.
Do I need spacers?
Possibly. Spindle and cup spacers aren't included, and what you need depends on your crank and frame. If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you work it out.
Does my frame need to be faced before fitting this bottom bracket?
For the best connection between the bottom bracket cups and the frame, we always recommend frame facing. We go into a lot more detail about why it's so important in our facing blog post.
Can I get a different colour or bearing?
Yes. White Industries make this BB in multiple colours, and also offer a XD-15 ceramic-hybrid bearing version. Email info@bmcr.com.au and we'll arrange a special order.
