Why Choose a Seat Post Clamp at BMCR Gear?
A seat post clamp is one of the smallest parts on your bike, but not all of them are created equal. BMCR Gear stocks precision-machined seat post clamps (also known as seatpost collars) from three respected component manufacturers: Phil Wood and White Industries from the USA, and Hope Technology from the UK. Whether you want a genuine colour-matched finishing touch or a dropper-post-ready clamp built for hard use, there's an option here for your build.
- Precision-machined by three respected manufacturers — nothing mass-produced or generic
- Built for long-term reliability, not a $10 clamp you'll bin after a few rides
- Available across a wide colour range to match or contrast with your build
- Options to suit both showpiece finishing touches and hard-riding dropper post setups
- Mechanic-tested in our Adelaide workshop

Frequently Asked Questions
What size seat post clamp do I need?
Seat post clamp sizing is based on your frame's seat tube outside diameter, not your seatpost diameter. Measure with calipers or check your frame manufacturer's spec sheet, or get in touch and we'll help you work it out.
What's the difference between a 31.8mm and a 32mm clamp?
They're not interchangeable, despite being close in size. Phil Wood and Hope Tech clamps are 31.8mm, the standard size on the vast majority of modern frames. White Industries makes theirs in 32mm, a less common size found on some specific frames. Always measure your actual seat tube outside diameter before ordering — a 32mm collar will not clamp properly on a 31.8mm seat tube, and vice versa.
Which brand should I choose?
All three are precision-machined and built to last. Phil Wood and White Industries lean more toward a showpiece finishing touch for a colour-matched build. Hope Tech's clamp has a larger clamping area specifically designed for dropper seatposts and comes in at a lower price point, making it a strong option if you're after function first.
It's also important to note that Phil Wood and White Industries seatpost clamps are 12mm tall whereas Hope clamps are 15mm tall. If you have a carbon frame with a recessed area at the top of the seat post tube, make sure to measure the height. If it's under 15mm, a Hope clamp won't fit properly.
Can I get a colour or size that's not listed?
You sure can! All three brands offer wider colour and size ranges than we keep in stock. Get in touch and we'll arrange a special order.
Do you ship seat post clamps Australia-wide?
Yes. BMCR Gear ships Phil Wood, White Industries and Hope Tech seat post clamps Australia-wide from our Adelaide workshop, with no import delays or surprise fees.
